1. Go to your start menu, located in the bottom right. From there go to All Programs, Smart Technologies, Smart Tools and then Smart Ink Settings.
2. Under General Settings, make sure SMART Ink is set to start when you login.
3. Under "Microsoft Office Settings" (On the right), tick "Use smart ink" under the "Microsoft Edit Mode" panel. Also make sure that the "Enable the SMART plug-in" is enabled under the "Plug in for Microsoft Powerpoint".
Then click "Apply" and "Ok".
